Human Von Willebrand Factor (VWF) is a multimeric glycoprotein, which is involved in binding coaggulation factor VIII and in adhesion of platelets at sites of vascular damage. In this process the platelet receptor glycoprotein Ib-IX-V complex binds to the VWF-A1 domain.
