Human anti-histidyl-tRNA synthetase antibody
Cytoplasmic histidyl-tRNA synthetase, a protein involved in the basic translation machinery catalyzing the attachment of alanine to tRNA(His) to a nascent peptide chain. This process takes place in all cells, but it is also linked to several diseases such as Marie-Charcot disease, Myositis (idiopathic inflammatory myopathies, IIM) and anti-Synthetase Syndrome (aSS). Over evolution, the protein has achieved an additional domain, WHEP, which is believed to carry out non-canonical functions.
