Antibody against CD42B, also known as glycoprotein Ibα (GPIbα). CD42B is a major component of the GPIb-IX-V complex on the platelet surface. It serves as the receptor for von Willebrand factor (vWF), mediating platelet adhesion to subendothelial surfaces at sites of vascular injury. CD42b is crucial for normal platelet function and primary hemostasis, and its deficiency is associated with Bernard–Soulier syndrome.
