At AVS Bio, we are the world’s largest and most trusted producer of Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) eggs and adjacent laboratory products and services for the development and manufacture of biologics. Our history spans 60 years of innovation, growth, and setting the global standards. We are actively looking to add an experienced Group Leader to join our team. This individual will be responsible the day-to-day operations.
The Group Leader will be the onsite lead/primary technician and perform technical duties in addition to being responsible for the day-to-day operations including coordinating/planning daily operation. This individual will provide leadership, technical guidance, and serve as mentor to the team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead daily meetings, meet production goals, drive continuous process improvement, and organize and prioritize tasks.
- Lead by example (i.e., follow company policies, work overtime, and perform other duties as required).
- Assign staffing to maximize output and ensure quality and productivity goals are being met.
- Interact with all employees on the team daily to ensure product quality and production output.
- Improve and maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
- Training of operators.
- Collaborate with technical with cross functional teams to ensure production goals are achieved with the highest quality.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- High School Diploma and or/ GED required with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience working with a production team.
- Motivation to work in a continuous process improvement culture.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- You are proficient MS Office (Excel), experience with ERP-software is a plus (preferably SAP)
- Production planning experience.
- Prior leadership experience.
- Knowledge of quality procedures and processes.
- Experience training others.
